Science City Kolkata

A trip to the science city is a must for kids. We get to see gigantic examples of the experiments present in the text books. It was about half an hours drive from Alipore.



We were welcomed by an unusual portrait of Rabindra Nath Tagore.



The first exhibit was the planetarium where a video on volcanoes and mountains was shown. I had seen this video on national geographic or discovery, however watching it on a gigantic wide screen was a new experience. There is a giant dinosaur that has the evolution of life on planet earth from amoebas to humans. The extreme right portion of the next photo has the dinosaur.



Then, there is a building with all the physics experiments. A lift takes us to the top floor and we walk down a spiral. Along with a few aquariums having piranhas, some life size exhibits of some baffling images such as the ones below are present.
