The first snap is of the panoramic view of the Shantadurga Temple complex.

On the left is the Deepa Stambh. Behind the Deep Stambh is the temple office and the main temple is at the center. The room are located on the three sides of the temple, on of which is seen on the bottom right part of the image. Circumambulation of this temple gives a nice view of the thick forest covering this temple, showing how difficult it was to locate and access this temple complex in the olden days. One common aspect of most Goan temples, is the presence of the Deep Stambh or the Tower of Light. This is typically an octagonal tower with provisions for lamps on each of the faces of this multi-storey tower.

The temple is closed to the Ponda Bus Stand and is well connected by buses. There is an auto-rickshaw stand as well at the bus stop and most of the auto drivers willingly come to this temple complex. However, at night commuting from might be problematic.
