Shree Ramnathi Temple, Loutolim, Goa

The Ramnathi Temple was originally situated in Loutolim before it was shifted Bandivade in Ponda. According to the locals, a new temple has been built on the location of the old temple. This place is very close to the Madgaon Railway station and one needs to take only a small diversion of about 4-5 k.m. from the Madgaon Ponda road, i.e., NH 17B. Some of the details can be obtained from the map shown below.

Madgaon to Loutolim

The temple has no idols, as the main idols have been shifted to the Ramnathi Temple at Bandivade, Ponda, Goa.

There are photographs of the idols and one very distinct portrait (just below the frame having the picture of Ramnathi) of a God with a snake around his neck. It could be Lord Shiva or one of his Ganas. I have never seen such a portrait and would like to get its details.

There are no rituals performed in this temple (at least as far as I know) but this place has a very historical significance.
